TV Time!

Hey, ya'll!  Happy Hump Day!

As you have heard me say before, I love when TV worlds, or even better reality TV worlds collide! It has happened again...and needless to say I am excited!!

CMT has green-lighted the new reality show Melissa and Tye: A New Reality. The show will follow former 'Making of: The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders', 'The Bachelor' ' Dancing with the Stars' star Melissa Rycroft, her hubby and new baby as they move to Los Angeles. Although no TV release date has been set, I will definitely be tuning in!

On the field with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders

Meeting Jason Mesnick on 'The Bachelor'...what a CF that was!

With her partner Tony Dovolani on DWTS.

Family 4th of July picture!

___________________________________________
That is not all from CMT...they have also green-lighted "I Love Jennie" which will follow Jennie Garth and her family (hello Peter Facinelli!) as they move out of LA and into the country. Again, I will be tuning in. Of course to see 'Kelly Taylor' but 'Kelly Taylor' married to 'Dr. Carlisle Cullen'...sign me up! Again, no TV release date, but hopefully soon!

I am going to ignore that 'Carlisle' is wearing orange crocs!

Slightly unrelated, tonight is the premiere of MTV's The Challenge: Battle of the Exes. I am sure major drama will ensue with this cast!

But, let's face it, my main reason for watching is.....

When Television Worlds Collide!

Happy Monday, ya'll!

I hope you had a great weekend...me, I am enjoying a 3 day weekend! Wahoo! And what am I doing today on my day off, catching up on work...ugh.

While watching TV last night, I saw a preview for The Real Housewives of Orange County (premiering Feb 7th on Bravo) and there is yet another new housewife in the mix....

The preview shows the new housewife, Heather, repeatedly saying "I'm An Actress...I'm An Actress" with Gretchen having no idea who she is. I thought she looked familiar so I played the clip again....and sure enough I totally recognize her! The show information lists her as Heather Dubrow, which is her married name. A quick IMDB search finds nada for Heather Dubrow.

But, if you are like me and have a crazy/random memory for TV, you will know to IMDB Heather as 'Heather Paige Kent' and voila`! I was remembering Heather from a CBS drama/dramady back in early 2000 called "That's Life" (2000-2002). "That's Life" also starred; Paul Sorvino, Ellen Burstyn, Kevin Dillon and Debi Mazar. I really liked this show and remember being sad when it was cancelled.

Totally random, but that is how my brain works when it comes to TV shows!

On a semi-related note, here is my favorite Tweet of the Golden Globes night...

Oh please Kelsey Grammar, fall off the stage

And a gratuitous Channing Tatum @ the Globes photo...you are welcome!

Happy January!

Happy January, ya'll!

Now that the holidays are over, some people get sad with the decorations coming down, full work weeks again, etc....but not me! January means new TV! Woot woot!! After spending the last 3-4 weeks in repeat/specials hell...finally new programming...Yes, I know I am a loser and fully accept that.

Most fall programming is back new this week with some returning next week, but what I am going to focus on is new/returning programming starting in January (these shows return at various times during January, so check your listings..)

What I am looking forward to this month ....

*The Bachelor (Monday, ABC, 8pm EST)...actually, not looking forward to The Bachelor this go around. Ben doesn't really 'stoke my fire' so I went ahead and spoiled the season for myself. If you would like to do the same, head on over to Reality Steve and find out who Ben picks!

*It's a Brad, Brad World (Monday, BRAVO, 10pmEST)...looking forward to this show as I loved Brad on The Rachel Zoe Project. Brad left Rachel to set out on his own, but apparently there is some bad blood there.....Bravo's It's a Brad, Brad World follows Brad Goreski through the excitement of embarking out on his own and making a name for himself in the glimmering, cutthroat world of fashion styling. No longer an assistant, Brad is in the limelight and ready to shine. But now all eyes are on him, and the pressure to succeed is as important as landing amazing designer gowns for his big celebrity clients. This docu-series is an all-access pass into the life of the small-town kid who loved theater and fashion, and who followed his dreams. While Brad obsesses about getting his clients red-carpet ready, he struggles to balance work and his home life with long-term boyfriend, Gary. Experience all of the defining moments and milestones of Brad's world, a world ready for the spotlight.

*Bad Girls Club: Las Vegas (Oxygen, Monday, 10pmEST)...Proves that I will watch anything based in Las Vegas...Oxygen's "Bad Girls Club," takes on an all new city with a hot new cast and a wild Las Vegas location. A brand new group of seven young women travel to Las Vegas and - in a series first - two of the girls are sisters...twins! "Bad Girls Club" adds some sibling rivalry to its newest cast of young, bold, outrageous and endlessly entertaining women as they jockey for position as the head girl in charge. Each claiming to be the ultimate "bad girl," can they put aside their differences and live together peacefully in a Las Vegas mansion - or will chaos rule?

*Work It (Tuesday, ABC, 830pmEST)...not actually looking forward to this one either, but will be idly watching from afar as this one explodes. Have you heard the premise on this one?? ABC's new high-concept comedy about two unrepentant guy’s guys who, unable to find work, dress as women to get jobs. Not only do they pull it off, but they just might learn to be better men in the process.

*Jane By Design (Tuesday, ABC Family, 9pmEST)..what can I say, I am a sucker for the ABC Family cheesey sitcoms.  Jane By Design is a light-hearted drama about Jane, a teenager who lands a job at Donovan Decker, a hip fashion house, when they mistake her for an adult. Jane soon finds herself juggling life both as a regular high school student and as an assistant to a high powered executive in the cutthroat world of fashion... all while trying to keep her true identity a secret.

*Joan & Melissa (Tuesday, WeTV, 9pmEST)...Joan & Melissa are TV gold...who doesn't love Joan's one-liners??  In it's second season, premiering Tuesday, January 24 at 9/8c, Joan & Melissa digs deeper into the lives of this funny, multi-faceted mother-daughter duo. Following them at home, on the job, and on the road, season 2 gives us an inside look at what life’s like for this small yet powerful entertainment dynasty of two.

*The Game (BET, Tuesday, 9pmEST)...I love any show that can combine football and a comedy/drama! Or maybe it is when TV show worlds collide....and I love that 'Jessica Wakefield' from the short run 'Sweet Valley High' show is on it..The Game, originally broadcast on the CW, is now part of the BET lineup. The sitcom stars Tia Mowry (Sister, Sister) as Melanie Barnett, a young woman who is thrust into the world of professional football when her boyfriend becomes a wide receiver for the San Diego Sabers.

*Tabatha Takes Over (Tuesday, Bravo, 10pmEST)...I love Tabatha and this time she is not just taking over salons, she is taking over all businesses that are in trouble! The straight-talking, perfectly coiffed Tabatha Coffey uses her sound advice and savvy expertise to help turn around a wide variety of struggling businesses, from bakeries to dog hotels, in Tabatha Takes Over. The show follows Coffey, the charismatic business owner and Australian native, as she travels across the country taking over all kinds of failing establishments and whipping them into shape with her professional advice on everything from management style to marketing materials to customer service.

*Southland (TNT, Tuesday, 10pmEST)...I really like this show. It started on NBC a few years ago, was cancelled and TNT revived  it! Yay for Ryan from 'The OC'! Also, Lucy Liu joins the cast this year...not sure how I feel about that, but won't let it ruin it for me :-)
From Emmy Award winners John Wells, Ann Biderman and Chris Chulack comes a raw and authentic look at a police unit in Los Angeles. From the beaches of Malibu to the streets of East Los Angeles, "Southland" is a fast-moving drama that will take viewers inside the lives of cops, criminals, victims and their families.

*Are You There, Chelsea (NBC, Wednesday, 830pmEST)...based upon the Chelsea Handler book, 'Are You There Vodka, It's Me Chelsea'. I enjoyed the book and am looking forward to see how this parlays into series television. Inspired by the best-selling books from actress/comedian Chelsea Handler, "Are You There, Chelsea?" follows the exploits of the twentysomething Chelsea (Laura Prepon, "That '70s Show"), an opinionated and unapologetic young woman who lives life to the fullest as a cocktail waitress, friend, daughter, sister and sexually dynamic "advanced drinker."

*One Tree Hill (The CW, Wednesday, 9pmEST)...Admittedly, they lost me a bit the past few seasons, but with this being the series finale, I am all in! I can't wait to see how everything wraps up and also the return of Chad Michael Murray to the show. I don't care for CMM IRL, largely because of his IRL marriage to Brooke Davis, but have always been a 'Lucas' fan. Season eight of ONE TREE HILL saw the characters moving away from glamour, fame and wealth and instead dealing with the delicate balance that contemporary twenty-somethings face as they endeavor to build and define what their lives will be.

*Royal Pains (USA, Wednesday, 10pmEST)...I really like this show...and really like to pretend that I too live in the Hamptons and lead a life of leisure...sigh...Hank is a rising star in the New York City medical community, until he loses everything fighting for the life of a patient. With his career stalled and his personal life in shambles, Hank is in need of a new beginning. That's where his younger brother Evan (Paulo Costanzo) steps in. Fed up with Hank's personal pity-party, he convinces Hank to join him on a last-minute trip to the Hamptons for Memorial Day weekend. When the brothers crash a party at the home of a Hamptons billionaire and a guest falls critically ill, Hank saves the day. His dramatic medical rescue draws attention from the crowd, and soon Hank's phone starts ringing off the hook with patients demanding house calls.

*Toddlers & Tiaras (TLC, Wednesday, 10pmEST)...I know, I know, it is an absolute train wreck and I feel sorry for the little girls pumped with sugar to participate at their Mothers' whim, but so entertaining! On any given weekend across the country, toddlers take the stage wearing makeup, spray tans and fake hair to be judged on beauty, personality and costumes. Toddlers & Tiaras follows families on their quest for sparkly crowns, big titles and lots of cash.

*The Challenge (MTV, Wednesday, 10pmEST)...Let's be honest, the only reason I am watching is for CT....OhMyGawwwwdd, the Hotness!!! Some of them have dated. Some of them were in long-term relationships. Some of them have just hooked up. But they've gone their separate ways...until now. What happens when former lovers are reunited? That is the terrifying question that twenty-six competitors will be asking themselves this season during the most intense Challenge yet, Battle Of The Exes. Set against the exotic backdrop of the Dominican Republic, each former lover will be partnered with their ex -- as their one and only teammate for the entire game. In order to claim their share of a massive $300,000 prize, these brokenhearted exes must find a way to make their failed relationships succeed -- or at least until they cross the finish line.

Come on, girls...seriously!! And the Boston accent just pushes it over the edge..!!!!...!!!!

*Project Runway, All Stars (Thursday, Lifetime, 9pmEST)..this may be the show I am looking forward to most! I love Project Runway, and an All Star version makes me happy!!

*Jersey Shore (Thursday, MTV, 10pmEST)..Back to the Shore!! I didn't watch the full season 4 in Italy, but will be jumping back in for season 5....mindless entertainment at its best!  The cast of Jersey Shore has left their Italian Holiday behind them and jetted straight to Seaside Heights, anxious to get their GTL on. From working at the T-shirt shop to trips to their beloved Karma, it's summer in Seaside and they couldn't be happier to be back. But what happens in Florence doesn't always stay in Florence. There's unresolved business between Snooki and The Situation, which inevitably involves the rest of the house. Still, amidst all the drama, there's plenty of laughs and silly antics to be had. You can take the kids out of Jersey, but once you put them back, you never know what's going to happen!

*The Firm (NBC, Thursday, 10pmEST)...based upon the John Grisham book of the same name. It also stars Josh Lucas (hello 'Sweet Home Alabama' hottie).  Based on the blockbuster feature film and best-selling novel by world-renowned author John Grisham ("The Pelican Brief," "The Client"), "The Firm" continues the story of attorney Mitchell McDeere and his family 10 years after the events of the film and novel. As a young associate, McDeere brought down the prestigious Memphis law firm of Bendini, Lambert & Locke, which operated as a front for the Chicago mob -- and his life was never the same.

So that is what is new in January for me, I will be back for what is new in February (I know, you can't wait..ha!). Here is a link to the January premiere calendar on TVLine.com

Hi, my name is Cara and I have a problem....

Happy Thursday!

I love Thursdays! One reason is it seems like the weekend is so close you can taste it and is still full of promise (instead of full of cleaning :( ). Another reason is that it is full of good TV! Thank good for TIVO in the living room and DVR in the bedroom (yes, I am aware that I have issues).  Here is what I am watching tonight!

Big Brother on CBS

While not as entertaining as previous seasons, for some reason, I can't stop watching! I don't feel as invested with these 'houseguests' and now that they are down to the Final 5, they have gotten pretty boring. Still, it remains on my DVR for me to at least FF through to catch up.

Project Runway on Lifetime
Photo courtesty of www.smallscreenscoop.com

I have not been 'all in' from the first season, but it has slowly become one of my favorite reality shows. I like watching this, and other reality shows, to see who is getting the editing that week and try to figure out who is leaving the show even before the judging begins! Hopefully the editors/producers are catching on to this and will stop doing it as much, because it is getting too easy! Other than that, I love seeing the fashion/accessories and how these designers make something from nothing. There is no way I could take a yard of fabric and turn it into anything I could wear in public!

Rookie Blue on abc
This was a summer show for abc, and I initially was just taping it for fear I would love it and it would be cancelled. The good news is, abc has renewed for another season, and I am really starting to like the characters.

Jersey Shore on MTV

What kind of pop culture enthusiast would I be if I didn't watch Jersey Shore?? That's right, I can fist-pump with the best of them...haha. By 10pm, I am looking for mindless entertainment, and that is exactly what this is for me. As much as you may want to hate some of these 'characters', I must admit they do crack me up!Living in Baltimore, Jersey is not a far ride for us, so we ventured up to Atlantic City last fall. All I can say is WOW! Mind you, my club attire is not what it used to be in my early 20's, but even then, there is no way what my friends and I wear even comes close to what these people rock. If nothing else, they have got great self-confidence!

So, that is what I will be watching tonight....how about you?
